Up and Running with Photoshop Elements
An intro to digital arts for digital artists and scrapbookers

Get started with Photoshop Elements, Adobe’s lower-cost but highly capable software for manipulating photos and creating art. This two-lesson intro shows you the basics and minimizes the technical jargon.

NOTE: The class is taught using Photoshop Elements 10. The concepts in the lessons apply to most versions of Photoshop and Photoshop Elements as well as most image editing software.

Class Overview

Lesson 1

• how to open a document and import a photo
• using the move, text and eyedropper tools
• the magic of layers and how to adjust them

Lesson 2

• how blend modes affect the look
• how to use selection tools
• how to save your work, and the best formats for print and web

Intro to Copic Markers

Copics are the markers created for creative people. Find out what’s so great about them and why are they’re so popular. Your instructor, a Copic Certified Designer, will present demos of the creative techniques possible with these art markers.

·       Coloring, Stamping, and Airbrushing with Copic markers

Class Overview

Every lesson includes instructions and materials needed to complete an interesting project that builds your skills as you go. Depending on the project, we’ll be working with a variety of

• patterned papers
• laser and/or inkjet printing
• Copic marker techniques
• stamping and embossing
• decoupage and mat media
• fabric and transfers

 Meets 4 times, 2 hours each time
